Impensa

Privacy policy.

Last updated 20 October 2026.

Impensa is an iPhone and iPad app for keeping track of what you spend. It's made by one person, Ismail, in the UK.

What the app keeps

Everything you add stays on your iPhone or iPad, in the app's own storage: your cards, categories and budgets, your spends and shops, receipt photos, statements you paste in, and your settings. The widgets read a small summary of the day's and the week's spend from the same phone.

There's no account and no bank login. Nothing is sent to Ismail or to a server of his. There are no analytics, no crash reports, no ads and no tracking. The app doesn't connect to the internet at all.

Receipts and statements

Receipts are read on the phone with Apple's text reader. The photo isn't sent anywhere. A bank statement you paste in is read on the phone too, and only the spends you approve are kept.

Backups and exports

If you turn on Settings › Backups, Impensa saves a copy of everything, receipts included, to your own iCloud Drive about once a day, in iCloud Drive › Impensa. Apple's iCloud terms cover it. Ismail can't see it. Older copies are deleted as new ones are made.

Export data writes one file that you choose where to save or send. Nothing is exported unless you do it.

Deleting your data

Delete the app and everything it kept goes with it. Settings › Delete everything does the same without deleting the app. Backups stay in iCloud Drive › Impensa until you delete them there.

Children

The app isn't aimed at children. It's rated 4+.

Changes

If this policy changes, the date at the top changes and the app's release notes say so.
